Highgate Howe

Holiday Home Park on the Yorkshire Coast

Highgate Howe lies in an elevated position approximately 3 miles from Whitby town centre and is an immaculately kept, select, family run caravan Holiday Home park. We are a very sought after park with panoramic views of the area – Whitby and its abbey, moors, sea, coastline…

Open 10 months. Adjacent to the stunning sandy cove of Saltwick Bay.

Owner-Occupied Holiday Homes

All caravan Holiday Homes are owner-occupied. We do not have Holiday Homes to let or take touring vans or tents making it a very quiet, very friendly and very safe environment for young and old alike.

Highgate Howe FAQ

When is the Park open?

From 7th March to 7th January (10 months) each year. No holiday home may be occupied overnight during the closed period; although you are free to visit during daylight hours but note the mains services may be switched off.

How much are the pitch fees?

Please email the office on info@highgatehowe.co.uk to hear our current pitch fees.

What do the pitch fees include?

Pitch fees include the rent for the pitch, water rates and local authority charges, VAT, grounds & general maintenance, sewerage and waste management charges. Electricity is metered and invoiced on an annual basis every October and gas which is also metered is invoice January, April, July & October each year.

When are the pitch fees due?

Pitch fees are due on 21st February each year and are reviewed annually. Any price increases are influenced by price rises to water, rates, inflation, sums spent by us on the Park for the benefit of caravan owners, and changes in operating costs.

Can I use my holiday home as a permanent residence?

No – every caravan park is subject to local planning & licensing regulations which state that you may only use your caravan for holiday or recreational purposes, so we need to keep a permanent residential address for all owners.

Can I hire my holiday home out?

No – hiring out is not permitted, however your family and friends are welcome to use your caravan holiday home.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes – it must be kept on a lead at all times on the Park and exercised off the Park. Dangerous breeds are not permitted on the Park.

Do you do insurance?

All caravan holiday homes must have ‘New for Old’ insurance. We will be happy to provide a quote to insure your caravan through our agency. If you insure your caravan elsewhere we will require a copy of the policy.

What paperwork will I receive?

On buying your caravan you will be issued with a Purchase Agreement along with the Park Rules, Conditions & Fire Regulations. The Purchase Agreement is a contract signed by use and you and shows amongst other things the full details of the caravan, how long the park is open and how long the caravan can remain on the park. Our upper age limit is 17 or 20 years depending on the make and model. Park Rules & Conditions apply.
